Small wall art for shelves and small spaces

Not every space needs a statement. A shelf, a nightstand, the narrow strip of wall between two doors. These are the spots you look at a hundred times a day without noticing, and they are where a small print does the most work.

Every print in the shop comes in 8x10. It sits on a shelf or leans on a desk with no nails and no measuring.

Where an 8x10 works best

Bookshelf: lean it against the back of the shelf, slightly off center.

Nightstand or dresser: lean it against the wall beside a lamp.

Desk: prop it at eye level, behind the monitor line.

Narrow wall between doors or windows: hang it at eye level, center about 57 inches from the floor.

An 8x10 on a big empty wall will look lost. If the wall is wider than about 3 feet, go up to 18x24.

Prints for small spaces

Ice is cold water and nothing else, the quietest thing in the shop. Blue jay is two spots of blue that pull your eye without raising their voice. Toucan wakes up a corner that has been beige for years.

Questions about small wall art

What size is best for a shelf?

8x10. It is big enough to read from across the room and small enough to lean on a standard bookshelf.

Can I hang an 8x10 on the wall?

Yes, on a narrow wall or in a small room. On a wide wall it will look too small; choose 18x24 or larger there.

Do the prints come framed?

No. Prints ship unframed on matte paper. An 8x10 fits standard ready-made frames, which are easy to find.

Not sure which one?
